Description: Gaol Committee minutes. Committee appointed to examine the state and condition of the County Gaols and Houses of Correction. Questions asked of the Gaolers at Devizes, Marlborough and Fisherton Anger as to the Prison buildings and the food, clothing, linen allowances, health and hygiene of the prisoners. All were reported as 'insufficient, incomplete and insecure', and the construction of a new Bridewell at Devizes and extensive alterations at Marlborough and Fisherton Anger were recommended.

Description: Printed copy Act and Bill 'for the removal and rebuilding of the council chamber, guildhall and gaol of the city of New Sarum, and for ascertaining the tolls of the market, and regulating the chairmen within the said city' (1785). Printed copy act to repeal the part of the above Act referring to the building of a City Gaol, and to authorise the use of the County Gaol (1800). Also, four related Quarter Sessions orders.
