Acle Cage

Overview

Location   exact location not certain but South of Church around TG 4011 1017  Acle

County   Norfolk

Century of Operation   1800-1899

Remarks   I found a reference to a "Cage" in the Acle Tithe Map apportionments of 1838 - Plot 92a. Neither 92 nor 92a appear on the accompanying Tithe map; but the 90s are around what is (currently) a Co-op supermarket. So I'll say probably located at Grid Reference: TG 4011 1017. Found by myself during research, using The Genealogist website, into the Halvergate Marshes as part of the Water, Mills & Marshes project of the Broads - under supervision of Prof Tom Williamson of History, University of East Anglia. The Archive Centre, County Hall, Norwich holds the actual Tithe Maps and Apportionments.
