Remarks   In 'Poulton-le-Fylde in Times Past', Catherine Rothwell claims that there was a lock-up behind the Plough Inn (now pork butcher's shop) in Church Street. The description and location does not match the Poulton lock-up visited by a prison inspector and described in his report for 1847 (https://www.prisonhistory.org/lockup/poulton-lock-up-house/). Rothwell claims that the lock-up was demolished in the 1960s, but in fact the building still survives, cement rendered and incorporated into the complex of buildings behind the current pork butchers shop in Church St. The only evidence that this was the lock-up comes from Rothwell's book.

Description: Exterior. Repaired, cement rendered, and incorporated into the buildings behind Church Street.
