'This lock up forms part of the county police station, and is about a quarter of a mile from the village. The site is unobjectionable, but the building is private property. There is only one cell. It is 7 1/2 feet long, 6 feet broad, and 7 1/2 feet high. It is sufficiently lighted and ventilated, but in wet weather it is damp, and there is no provision for warming it; and although there is a resident keeper, the cell is not very secure. There is a guard bed with loose straw for prisoners to lie on.'
